Summary

Observation of slight structure distortion with high precision

Research ObjectivesMaterials with complicated structure, composite materials, produced using the newest materials development technology.
FeaturesThe atomic position of a light element such as hydrogen in a crystal structure can be determined precisely.
The complementary use of X-rays and neutrons will be realized in the intensity and resolution.

SuperHRPD is located at about 100 m from a thin side of a decoupled poisoned moderator, which has been developed to produce a high-resolution & good S/N neutron pulses to achieve the ~0.035 % resolution in Δd/d.
